A successful Disaster and Fire Readiness Drive hosted by the Community Development and Planning Services (CDPS) by Ceres Primary School on Friday, 4 October 2024. The awareness drive is aimed at educating learners about various types of disasters common in the Cape Winelands district. Thus, fires and floods, with practical demonstrations and vital information provided by our Disaster Management and Fire Services division. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) led an engaging drowning prevention demonstration, while the Fire Services showcased critical steps for fire safety.
The Municipal Health Services (MHS) presented a handwashing demonstration, promoting good hygiene. Tourism, Rural and Social Development supported the event with goody packs for the learners.
Awareness drives like these empowers learners with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe during emergencies.
